Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where gambling den wagering is illegal. Eight casinos are based in a generally small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in a perfect destination, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing capital acquired from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of controls requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; although, investment sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and although visas are apparently needed to pass, there are ways around this, as is true of most border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge gambling hall, highlights 150 slot machine games and sixty tables. The Naga gambling den is open all day and night with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of 150 slot machines and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slots and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and 66 of the familiar tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight casinos in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around resort and hotel complex that highlights many conveniences aside from the gambling den, which provides ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slots and 88 tables.
