Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting story to the Cambodia casinos that sit just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which gambling den betting is not allowed. Eight gambling dens are established in a relatively tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent area, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital acquired from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few controls requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; still, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 17:00, and even though visas are allegedly needed to pass, there are means around this, as is true of many borders.

The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge casino, contains 150 one armed bandits and 60 table games. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of 150 slots and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 one armed bandits and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the normal tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international resort and hotel complex that features numerous comforts aside from the gambling den, which contains ten thousand square feet of 130 slots and 88 tables.
